Official Launch of A Cyclist’s Guide to Taiwan

To celebrate the publication of A Cyclist’s Guide to Taiwan, we partnered with the Netherlands Office in Taipei for a special launch event that coincided with the visit of the Nieuwsfiets Bicycle Business Delegation. The delegation, consisting of 38 Dutch bicycle entrepreneurs and shop owners, travelled to Taiwan for a week of industry exchange hosted by Velocity Taiwan.

The event brought together around 60 participants, including members of the Dutch business community in Taiwan, all united by a shared passion for cycling, innovation, and international collaboration.

During the evening, we shared the story behind the book—from our experiences exploring Taiwan by bicycle to the journey of transforming those adventures into a publication aimed at inspiring more international cyclists to discover the island. We also reflected on the value of cross-cultural collaboration and the role cycling can play in promoting sustainable mobility and meaningful travel experiences.

To mark the occasion, each attendee received a copy of A Cyclist’s Guide to Taiwan, encouraging them to experience Taiwan’s diverse cycling routes, landscapes, and culture, and to share their own stories and discoveries with cycling communities back home.

The launch was a wonderful opportunity to celebrate Taiwan as a world-class cycling destination and to strengthen connections between the Dutch and Taiwanese cycling sectors.
