What a journey! It took five years, but today I could finally defend my PhD thesis 😊 Thanks everyone for all the support over the years, and especially @violavanonselen and Prof. Chan! And thanks everyone for joining this moment online or in person!!! Taiwan will always have a special place.

Great to have some adventures with Uncle Russ (@r.shean) again during his typical holiday in Taiwan. Super nice seeing you again and @violavanonselen and I cannot wait to meet up someday in the US 😊 P.s. thanks for the US gifts and pocket tamales are just brilliant!

Cycling in Taiwan is amazing, from beautiful coastal sceneries to high mountain passes, the island has it all! This year I finally dared to sign up for Taiwan's road to KOM after four years of doubt, a cycling challenge from east coast Hualien up to the Wuling mountain pass. This Monday it was suddenly there, and tougher than I expected. But with amazing views and supporting fellow cyclists it was more than worth it. Very happy to have finished and thanks for the amazing support @violavanonselen

While preparing for a conference in Athens we came across the nearby city of Marathon on google maps...So the only logical and sensible thing to do would be to run there, right? However the original route of Philippides after the battle of Marathon, from Marathon to Athens, happens to be a very busy road today. Therefore we changed it up a bit this Weekend, it's still a Athens-Marthon run, but with nice scenery and with my perfect running buddy @violavanonselen . In the end the goddess of victory (nike) even greeted us!

When watching the giro together with your dad and seeing your heroes climbing these 48 hairpins of insanity, you never imagine that you will give it a go one day... and then many years later, together with my brave wife @violavanonselen, it turns out to be even more beautiful then you've imagined.

After clouds came sunshine, and a lot more uphill! Yesterday @violavanonselen and I tested ourselves with another cycling route (Yilan-Lishan-Wuling-Puli). Taiwan and its diverse scenery keeps amazing us. Especially when going from sea level to over 3000m and back, you notice how incredibly diverse the island is!

No spring apparently, so just jumped right into nice summer evenings, sweaty bike rides and humid runs 😅
